Meet Carmen Mendoza; Life Coach

My personal and professional life can be summed up in one word, eclectic. This is a strength. The vast experiences I have had in my career have all lead to this powerful one; that of a holistic coach. These eclectic experiences have given a solid foundation for the type of coach I am, one who wants you to shine your light brightly. My childhood was spent moving due to both parents having served in the military. My professional life is just as colorful. I have worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the National Park Service, a radio sales rep, Jazzercise instructor, secondary teacher and at Colorado State Cooperative Extension 4-H before going into life coaching. My relationships and experiences with Native students during college, working with the Navajo Nation at that time and working with the Miccosukee Tribe of Florida deepened my understanding and wisdom of human nature and what is possible for all of us.

This eclectic experience help mold me and is the background to who I am today. I believe who we are and what we do impacts the world. I believe we are all related and we each are an individual cell making up the entity known as humanity. It has provided a rich fertile ground in developing my coaching practice.

I have helped a client fulfill a 20 year dream in less than 8 months, helped another quit their job for a better one, another client who wanted to quit, improve their outlook and job position to where they loved their work and stayed. I have helped many clients find a new normal from physical tragedy of war by carving out precious time to fill themselves up from the demanding veteran caregiver life. I have helped a number of clients bring their dormant projects to fruition with ease and grace thus giving them deep satisfaction. Every client I have worked with became more aware of who they are and how they show up in the world. They became more alive on a daily basis as more joy was brought into their world by the work they did with me. It is a sacred honor to have people trust me in co-creating with them their goals, projects and how they want to be in the world.

I have been told I connect well with all people that I hold a depth of perspective that few people are able to provide. I have the ability to listen and quickly cut through the complexity of human relationships to identify causes of conflict and the seeds of awareness that lead to successful interpersonal and group understanding. I am courageous and willing to discuss the difficult topics. I lead by example and work on finding ways to make good things happen. I am solutions orientated with compassion, kindness and intuitiveness.

I express my creativity through writing fiction. I get lost in time when I write. My heart rate slows down and I am in another world. Writing excites and energizes me. My first fiction, Road To Soul  was published in 2014. It is a perfect read for taking a break, waiting at the doctor's or while on vacation. In my spare time, I am writing the sequel to Road To Soul.

I am certified through EITC, Canada, to administer and evaluate EQ-i2.0 and the 360 assessments. I hold a PCC (Professional Certified Coach) from the International Coach Federation, a master in education from Colorado State University and an undergrad degree in Sociology from Northern Arizona University. I continue to take coaching classes to keep my coaching credentials current and stay on the cutting edge of the coaching profession. I am on the board for the Intercultural Community Builders where I am also a workshop facilitator. I volunteer for the Sky's The Limit Observatory and Nature Center in the desert helping visitors understand our belonging in this beautiful vast universe.
